You will often find mothers chasing a child around, trying to get them to eat, nap, or sit still. Their job is not an easy one. They are to nurture the child and also take care of the home. Sometimes I wonder how they manage to do it all, but somehow they do, most at the expense of their “me time.” Their lives revolve around someone else, and it seems they go underappreciated.
Today we will pray for mothers. May God give them the energy and strength to go about their days raising the children and caring for the home so they may do this job joyfully and that they may be surrounded by helpful people, both mothers and others who may not have children or have children who have grown up and moved away.
"Lord, today I present to you, mothers. They have the hard task of raising children while taking care of the home. I pray you will give them the strength and energy to fulfill their roles. I pray that you give them the wisdom to bring up their children in your word. The patience to deal with children during the good and difficult days. May they be about to find time to be in your word, relying on you to help them daily. May they see that although their duties as tasking, you have given them the gift of childbearing and will help them. I pray they do not feel deserted or alone in their walk. May they be surrounded by others willing to help and give them a break. Thank you, in Jesus' name, amen."
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
