Discipleships are an important ministry in the church. They regularly meet with the same group and get to know each other deeper than you would simply by having small talk in the church. They give us a better understanding of how we can pray for each other.
Today we will pray these groups are strengthened and that all the members may regularly find time to attend and participate in a smaller community. May the groups grow in communication and also love for one another. May we be able to help each other by comforting one another and reaching out in difficult times.
“Lord, I pray for all the discipleship groups. I pray that you strengthen them; may they be more united, seeking you together. May they form a strong bond and seek each other out in difficult times. May we be available to partake in these groups, knowing we should be either disciple or disciplining others. I thank you that we can take time out to spend with our groups, and I ask that you continue to bless the time we spend together. I ask these things in Jesus’ name, amen.”
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16
