When it comes to serving in the church, I think if you can help in some way and you have the time, you should. But only if it is something you feel in your heart. Don’t do it for recognition but for the betterment of the church body.
We can all think of a few people who gladly serve in the church, quietly and without seeking recognition. Thank them when you get a chance. Some are a little more visible, not necessarily because they are seeking attention, but maybe what they do may seem more important; rest assured, no one is better than the other. Serving in the church is not a competition; we should do all things as onto the Lord. Today we will pray for those who volunteer time, money, energy, and anything they can to the church. We know we’d be lost if they all decided to go on vacation simultaneously.
"Lord, I thank you for pleasing the will to serve in the heart of your people. I thank you for those who serve in and outside the church. I pray you continue to use them and provide them with the means to continue to serve. May you provide more people to serve in your church, filling all the needs of the body. I am very grateful to everyone who volunteers themselves to the church and ask that you continue to bless them. I thank you, and I pray these things in Jesus' name, amen."
“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
1 Corinthians 15:58
