Today we will be praying for our pastors. They have the very hard job of caring for our souls. They are constantly praying for us and checking on how we are doing while preparing sermons and making house or hospital visits. They take hours to prepare a sermon for every Sunday, meticulously searching the scriptures and spending time in prayer to ensure they are not teaching us heresy.
They have been entrusted to care for our souls, which is a task that many of us will never know. So we will pray for the wisdom, energy, strength, and health they require to continue to do their God-ordained jobs.
“Lord, we bring before you today our pastors. They love and care for us on a level we may never understand. I pray you continue using them to aid us in our spiritual growth. I pray you grant them the patience and wisdom they need to take care of your body. Please, keep them healthy and strong, so that they may continue to labor on. May we always keep them in our prayers, knowing they need them. May they continue to grow in your word and your spirit. May they love you with all their minds, bodies, and soul. They are an invaluable part of our lives, and we pray they may continue to be so. Thank you for them, and pray these things in Jesus' Holy name, Amen.”
“‘And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.”
Jeremiah 3:15 ESV
“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.”
Hebrews 13:17 ESV
