I am sure we can all think of someone who might be ill at this very moment. It could be a terminal illness or mere flu, but regardless of severity, we can be praying for them and those around them.
Today let’s pray for their health. That they may recover soon if that is the Lord’s will, and that they may be filled with joy, notwithstanding their situation. May those who surround them be provided the energy to help them recover. We know that God is in control of all things, and it may seem like a reoccurring theme through these prayers, but it is a fact. God is omnipotent, and He does all that He pleases. We may not understand why but we pray He helps us through. In good times He has been faithful, and in difficult times He has not left our side.
“Lord, I come to you today, asking that you help those who are ill. Those who are weak and undergoing treatment. Those who may have undergone surgery and are in recovery, those with terminal illnesses. I ask that you give them the strength to endure these difficult moments. That you send them helpers who can take the time to take care of some of the responsibilities they may not be able to do because of their ailment. I thank you for them and pray they keep their faith in you. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
James 5:14-16
