Have you ever wondered where a child learned to lie? Interestingly, they are never taught to lie, yet they know how. They can pick up on social keys and figure out what they mean. Their minds are like sponges, just taking in everything. This is why praying for them and being mindful of how we behave around them is so important.
Today we pray for children. They are at an age where they need to be nurtured and loved. I pray that the parents can provide these children with the nourishment they need to grow up with a strong foundation. May they be brought up in fear of the Lord, trusting in Him.
“Lord, today we come to you asking that you help us guard our children’s hearts and minds. May we protect them from outside ideologies that want to confuse them and lead them astray. May we be able to nurture them and provide them with a safe space to grow. May we help them grow spiritually. Teaching them in the word to believe, trust and rely on you. We know raising children is difficult, so we ask that you help parents with this. That those who are not parents can help in the raising of the children when the parents need a break. May we all aid in the growth of these children and the molding of their young minds. Thank you, and I pray these things in Jesus’ Holy name, amen.”
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Proverbs 22:6
“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”
Ephesians 6:4
