Welcome to the first day of 30 Days of Prayer. To start off, I wanted to focus on things that can be happening in the near future, like these next 30 Days of Prayer, for example. In today’s prayer, we can pray for anything that may be going on, such as deadlines at work, church events, birthdays, and the start of the school year.
Today we can pray for strength, wisdom, and guidance for what the future holds. I am the kind of person who, in a sense, lives more on the future than in the present, so I find it good to pray for what will happen in advance since my mind is already mentally there, if that makes any sense.
Today, let us focus on things we may be worrying about and cast it upon the Lord. Let us bring Him our concerns, cares, and frustrations knowing He will help us through.
“Lord, I thank you that I can communicate by this means. I pray that this month will be a fruitful month. That there may be much spiritual growth in me and anyone joining in during these next 30 days. I pray for everyone who will be joining in that they may be able to devote a little more time to be with you in prayer. I know we are all busy with plans, and work, so I pray we are able to make time for what is truly important. I pray that all things that we have been worrying about or stressing may be resolved and, if not resolved, that you give us the peace and wisdom to bear with it. We know that you are in control of all things, all events, all plans, now and in the future. I pray that you may help us to rely on you and not our own understanding, that we may seek you first and present our plans to you. In Jesus' name, Amen.”
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Matthew 6:33 ESV
